Polyhydron Pvt. Ltd ( PPL ) is the flag ship company of Polyhydron Group of Industries. It is one of the best industries in the Belagavi District. Polyhydron is known for its Ethical Management. This Sugar factory is located in Chikkodi taluka and was founded in the year 1969. The factory was built with an intention of uplifting the sugarcane growers and Area Development by establishing the production of commercial sugar. Its production was started in 1974 at Nandi Village.

Indal Aluminium Company, Limited (INDAL) was established in 1938 and this Factory is approx. about 7 Kms from the Belagavi city. In the year 1944, it was renamed as Indian Aluminium Company Ltd. and in 1945, the company became Public Ltd Indian Aluminium Company, Limited (Indal), an Aditya Birla Group Company, has been a part of India’s aluminium industry for over six decades. As a member of the Aditya Birla Group and a wholly owned subsidiary of Hindalco Industries (holding 96% equity) Indal is a part of one of India’s largest business houses. Heera Sugar (Sankeshwar-Hukkeri)
Shri Hiranyakeshi Sahakari Sakkare Karkhane Niyamit (S.S.K Niyamat) Sankeshwar in Hukkeri Taluka was registered on Sept 1956 and Started its production in June 1961. This factory provides employment for 1500 persons during the season. Crystal sugar is the main product and filter, bagasse and molasses are its by-products.

Shree Bhagyalaxmi Sahakari Sakkare Karkhane (Khanapur)
This factory produces sugar and is situated in Kuppatgiri (Khanapur). It was Registered on 10th December1982 and the Industrial Permission Letter Number was given on 17th march 1998. The Factory has a Crushing Capacity of Sugar about 2500 MT per day. The current Cane was crushed in the year 2001 (12th april) of about 3.08,738 MT. The total Sugar produced was 3.25,407 MT(White) 690 MT (Brown), the recovery was about 10.50 %. The Targeted Crushing during the season was about 4.5 Lacs MT to Lacs MT.

Gokak Mills(Gokak): The Gokak mills, at present a division of Gokak, Patel Volkart Ltd., Mumbai was established in 1885 at Gokak falls, about 6kms from Gokak, for converting cotton into yarn. The mill produces cotton yarn, cotton type cord and cotton canvas and duck.

Hydraulics(Belagavi): The Bemco Hydraulics Ltd. was incorporated for manufacture and sale of Hydraulics presses and equipments in March 1957, Belagavi. The partnership firm was converted into a Public Ltd. Co. in the 1976.
Arun Engineering Works(Belagavi): A partnership firm was established for processing of Crank-Shafts, Rotars etc at Udyambag Industrial Estate, Belagavi in May 1960. It is also maunfacturing Hydraulic Jacks, Hydraulic presses and Arbor presses.
Malaprabha Co-Operative Sugar Factory (Hubli-Belagavi): Mugut Khan Hubli based this sugar factory and it was incorporated on 13th march 1961 for manufacture of sugar and allied products. It provides employment for more than 1200 persons. The production capacity of the factory is 3,500 MT of sugar.
National Institute of H ydrology (Belagavi): The National Institute of Hydrology (NIH) was established in 1978 with its headquarters at Roorkee – 247667 (Uttaranchal), India. It is an autonomous society under the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India. Its main objective is to undertake systematic and scientific research (basic and applied) in all aspects of Hydrology. To study specific hydrological problems of different regions of the country, the Institute has established The First regional Centre at Belagavi in 1987- The Hard Rock Regional Centre. The other Centres of NIH are at Jammu (Western Himalayan Regional Centre), Guwahati (North Eastern Regional Centre), Kakinada (Deltaic Regional Centre), Patna (Centre for Flood Management Studies), and Sagar (Ganga Plains South Regional Centre).
At present, there are 7 scientists working at the Hard Rock Regional Centre which is equipped with soil testing and water quality laboratories. It has also monitored automatic weather stations at Nagargalli (Bachi catchment) and Halkarni (Ghataprabha representative basin).
